Kamran Akmal comes out in defense of his brother Umar Akmal who has been banned for three years from all forms of the game by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday.
In a statement after PCB’s decision on Umar’s case, Kamran said that three years ban was surprising for him. “PCB’s decision is surprising,” Kamran said. “We are waiting for detailed decision after which we will decide what to do next,” he added.
The wicket-keeper confirmed that they will appeal against PCB’s decision for sure. “Once the detailed decision comes out, we will definitely use our right appeal against the decision,” he said.
It must be noted here that Akmal has been banned for three years under PCB Anti-Corruption Code. He was charged with two breaches of Article 2.4.4. The 29-years-old cricketer was suspended with immediate effect just a day before the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5.
